Quickstart

Connecting takes one URL and one sign-in. For Claude and ChatGPT it takes about two minutes.
Using Claude or ChatGPT? You only need Before you start and your assistant's section. The sections after ChatGPT are for developer tools.
Server URL: https://connect.convirza.com/mcp (click the URL to copy it)
Paste the server URL above, not the address of this page.

Before you start#

A Convirza account. No account yet? Start free. You can't create an account from inside your assistant.
Your role: Admin, Standard or Read-only. If you signed up yourself, you are an Admin. Read-only users can look things up but can't make changes.
No API key needed. You sign in with your Convirza account: email and password, Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft.
Add it yourself. Convirza isn't listed in Claude's or ChatGPT's app directory yet, so you add it with the server URL.

Claude#

Add the connector on claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app. Once added, it works in the Claude mobile apps too.

Free, Pro and Max plans#

1
Open Connectors
Open Customize, then Connectors.
2
Add a custom connector
Select + Add, then Add custom connector.
3
Enter the server
Name: Convirza. URL: https://connect.convirza.com/mcp. Select Continue.
4
Check the settings
Claude shows the sign-in settings it found. Select Continue.
5
Turn on sign-in
Under Authentication, choose Sign in now. If Claude has selected No sign in, change it. Select Add.
6
Sign in
Sign in on the Convirza page that opens. In a chat, select +, then Connectors, and make sure Convirza is on.
On the Free plan, Claude allows one custom connector.

Team and Enterprise plans#

An Owner adds the connector once:
1
Add it for the organization
Open Organization settings, then Connectors. Select Add, hover over Custom and select Web.
2
Enter the server
Name: Convirza. URL: https://connect.convirza.com/mcp. Select Continue, check the settings Claude found and select Continue again. Choose Sign in now under Authentication, then select Add.
3
Members connect
Each member opens Customize, then Connectors, finds Convirza (labeled Custom) and selects Connect.

ChatGPT#

ChatGPT connects to custom MCP servers from Plugins, on the web. What you can do depends on your ChatGPT plan:
PlanWhat works
Business, Enterprise, EduLook things up and make changes. On Business, only admins and owners can add a custom MCP server. On Enterprise and Edu, admins can give members permission
ProRead-only: look things up, no changes
Plus, Go, FreeNot available
1
Open Plugins
On chatgpt.com, open Plugins.
2
Add the server
Select +, then Add custom MCP server. Name: Convirza. Under Connection, paste https://connect.convirza.com/mcp.
3
Choose OAuth
Set authentication to OAuth. Read the warning, select I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin.
4
Install and sign in
Find Convirza in your plugins, install it, and sign in on the Convirza page that opens. Then start a new chat, type @ and select Convirza.
Workspace admins can publish Convirza to the workspace. Members then find Convirza under Settings, then Plugins, and only need to sign in.
Don't see Add custom MCP server? Your plan doesn't include it, or your workspace admin hasn't given you permission. See OpenAI's guide: Connecting custom MCP servers in ChatGPT.

Cursor#

Add to Cursor
Open Cursor and add the Convirza server.
Or add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "convirza": {
      "url": "https://connect.convirza.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
Cursor opens the Convirza sign-in page the first time it connects.

VS Code#

Install in VS Code
Open VS Code and add the Convirza server.
Or, on Mac or Linux with the code command installed, run:
Or open the Command Palette, run MCP: Add Server, choose HTTP, paste the server URL and name it convirza.
The first time the server starts, confirm that you trust it. VS Code then opens your browser so you can sign in. GitHub Copilot in VS Code can then use the Convirza tools.

Claude Code#

1. Add the server. Run this in your terminal:
-s user makes Convirza available in every project, not only the folder you ran the command in.
2. Sign in. Inside Claude Code, run /mcp, choose convirza and sign in on the page that opens in your browser.
To share the connection with everyone working in a project, add it to the project's .mcp.json instead:
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "convirza": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://connect.convirza.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
Each person still signs in with their own Convirza account.

Codex#

1. Add the server:
2. Sign in:
Sign in on the Convirza page that opens. If the sign-in window times out, run the same command again.
Or add the server to ~/.codex/config.toml:
[mcp_servers.convirza]
url = "https://connect.convirza.com/mcp"
The Codex IDE extension reads the same config.

Any other MCP client#

Follow your client's steps for adding a remote MCP server, use https://connect.convirza.com/mcp as the URL, and choose OAuth when asked. The server registers your client automatically.
If your client only supports the older SSE transport, use https://connect.convirza.com/sse.

Check that it worked#

Ask your assistant:
"Which Convirza groups can I access?"
In ChatGPT, type @Convirza first. You should see the groups your account can access. If you get a permission message instead, see Authentication & Access. Then try Example Prompts.
